Three Receivers In The Top Ten
It’s atypical that wide receivers are drafted early in the first round. This year, there were three chosen in the top ten. The Tennessee Titans kicked things off by selecting Western Michigan’s Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick. This pick seems like a reach as many experts didn’t rank Davis as their top receiver, but he certainly has the size and talent to be successful.
Two picks later, the Chargers took Clemson star, Mike Williams. The Chargers have had consistent issues with Keenan Allen’s health and want to make the most of Philip Rivers while he’s still on top of his game.
Williams was one of the favorite targets of Deshaun Watson in college and can be an immediate impact player.
The Bengals surprised fans by drafting the player with the fastest 40 time in the draft: John Ross. The Bengals saw what happened to their offense last year after letting go of Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones. They decided they had to do something to resolve their woes on offense. Ross should be able to stretch the field and open things up for A.J. Green.
